START WITH THE BASICS

How to play bridge

Bridge is a trick-taking card game for four players in two partnerships. Partners sit opposite each other, and each player starts with 13 cards.

  1. Choose your level

In Bridge, choose Easy, Medium, or Expert, then select Play to start your game.

  2. Bid for a contract

The bidding sets a target number of tricks and a trump suit, or no trumps. A bid of one promises seven tricks; each higher level adds one more.

  3. Play your hand

Each player plays one card per trick, following the led suit if possible. The highest card in that suit wins unless a trump is played. The declarer also plays the exposed hand of their partner, the dummy.

The declaring side tries to make its contract; the defenders try to stop it. Keep track of the cards played and think about what your partner might hold.

Portrait of Enrique, creator of Bridge Gurus

Hi, I'm Enrique

I'm a casual game developer from Barcelona with over 10 years of experience, and the person behind Bridge Gurus. I'm still new to bridge, but hand by hand, I'm falling in love with it.

This project brings together what I know and what I'm learning. I hope it makes your first steps at the table a little more welcoming, too. Let's learn together, one hand at a time.
